Edit / Adjust JD

Once a job description has been created, it can be edited (walked back through the full JD workflow to update its content) or adjusted (a lighter-weight update to an associated task, such as its date), depending on what needs to change.

ActionPurpose
EditRe-opens the full JD editing workflow — job details, JD editor, questions, skill metrics — for content changes.
AdjustUpdates a specific task tied to the JD (e.g. rescheduling a date) without going through the full workflow.

Edit

To edit an existing job description:

  1. Go to the Job Descriptions list.
  2. Select the entry you want to work with.
  3. Click the action button on the right side of that row.
  4. Choose Edit from the dropdown.

This opens the job editing workflow, with a timeline on the left showing each step:

  1. Click Continue through the first step.
  2. Click Continue past the Job Description editor.
  3. Go through Job Questions.
  4. Continue through Skill Metrics, stepping through each section of the form.
  5. At the final stage, click Send for Approval.
note

A dialog appears asking for a comment before sending. You can cancel this to return to the form without submitting, if you're not ready yet.

Adjust

To adjust a task associated with a job description:

  1. Go to the task list for the JD.
  2. Open the Adjust Task option for the task you want to update.
  3. In the task dialog, update the details as needed — e.g. click a new date (such as the 26th) on the calendar.
  4. Click Save.

A success message confirms the job description has been onboarded.

  1. Click View JD List to return to the main list.
